I keep driving past the new building site for York University at Badger Hill and thinking it would be a good place to make an aerial video as an archive for the future, while we can still see some of the original landscape before it's all finished and built on. The first thing that struck me as I watched from the air through my FPV (first person view) goggles was the enormity of the site, it's absolutely gigantic! I think by the time the project is complete it will almost double the size of York University, which is a pretty big place to begin with. I expect it will be one of the largest university campuses in the country. While I was up there I also got a shot of Badger Hill, a large housing estate built in the 1960s that is now across the road from the new university site, where you can see Arch Bishop Holgate school at the back. |
