York Rooftops at Sunset MK Clone Quadcopter |

I decided to give my MK clone another try as it's been sat up on a shelf for ages, doing nothing. Also I'm waiting for spare parts for my genuine Mikrokopter and did not want to miss the opportunity of capturing the lovely sunset. A first for any flight was that I lifted off from right inside my backyard, which I hope you can see is not very large at all. I was intending to fly FPV (first person view), I had the video link setup and the goggles ready, but when I saw how non-solid the flight characteristics of the clone were I decided against it. You can see in the video that it sways about a bit. It was almost impossible to keep it hovering dead still on the sport, and it was not very windy at all. There were also some random little twitches, which were larglely down to the camera mount that I'd swapped over from my Gaui 330X - it was a bit loose in some of the bearings. I think I will swap mounts and try again. I do actually like the build of my quadcopter with the clone board, it has a foldable aluminium frame and nice, sturdy legs, so I may try removing the MK clone board and putting something else in there; either a genuine MK board, a KK board or maybe a Hoverfly as I have not tried one of those yet. The one thing I really do like, that I don't use anywhere near as much as I used to, is the Gopro Hero and the quality of the images it produces when it's up above the rooftops in the sunshine. |
