MK Hexa 2 Old Chocolate Factory FPV

This flight was to test a few things all rolled into one.

For one I've decided to give FPV (first person view) a proper go so this is my first FPV flight for quite some time. I lost an xAircraft x650 last time, so I guess that kind of put me off. However, you can fly a lot higher with FPV, and over the top of things, so there are times when a first person view is a great advantage - so I don't want to give up on the whole FPV thing just yet.

I have attached a new Sony FPV camera to the front motor boom, which I can actually see in the image on my Fatshark goggles so it help give me some perspective and acts as a directional and horizonal guide.

This was also only my third flight with my new Mikrokopter Hexa 2, so I'm still getting a feel for it. I feel much more confident flying FPV with this over any other machine I've tried so far. Though if you watch the video you will see I came very close to hitting a tree. This was because I was flying sideways below the height of the surrounding trees and just managed to spot the tree in the wide angle lens of the FPV camera and throttled up just in time to miss it. From this I've learnt that plenty of height is needed for sideways flight, and when lower down I should only fly forwards or hover on the spot and use the rudder to turn.

This aerial photography is also taken with a new camera, a Panasonic HDC-SD800, which creates beautiful pictures. However, it was cloudy in this video so the image is not at it's best.
