Gaui 330X Quadcopter and Electricity Pylons |

I'd been out in the countryside yesterday and there was a huge traffic jam on the way home, so I decided to take some back roads and found this reallly quiet lane with beautiful fields on either side and a long line of electricity pylons stretching off into the distance. It looked so nice that I couldn't resists stopping the car and having a fly around with my Gaui 330X S quadcopter and Gopro camera. I didn't actually get that close to the pylons, I'm fairly sure that would be quite dangerous somehow - at least the RC manuals I've read warn against it - but it was quite a cool place to fly. I also did something else in this aerial video that I never tried before with any of my quadcopters, which is take off from the roof of my car. I was not flying FPV (first person view) this time, but I've always wondered what it would be like launching from the roof of the car while sat inside the car with FPV goggles on, then landing back on the roof again later. Well, I didn't stay in the car but I did take off from the roof of the car and land back on the roof at the end of the flight, which I thought was pretty cool - especially as there was a bit of a breeze. This is a good demonstration for me of how my flying skills have come on. I certainly would not have been able to land so precisely a few months ago. Another thing I did in this video nearer to the end was fly a fast, low-flying circuit over the wheat, practically brushing it on one point, before going back up in the air and landing on the car. I'm not sure how well the thrill will come across in a video, but to me at the time my impromptu quadcopter flight was totally awesome. |
