FPV RC Stealth V2 Boat Duck Photography

Yesterday we did some preliminary tests for combining RC boat camera work with some flying camera work, though we had to leave out the flying aspect because of 20+ mph winds, which you can see in the trees in the second half of the video and the choppiness of the water, which is normally flat on this little lake.

This is just an ordinary RC boat, pretty cheap and just a toy really, that I adapted to carry a camera and video transmitter so I could pilot the boat with my video goggles and get a duck's eye view of the lake.

The camera equipment did impede the performance of the boat a little, but that didn't really matter as we only want to go slow around the ducks anyway, we were not there to terrorize them, just take pictures of the ducks in action.

If the wind had been a lot slower I would have flown my DJI Wookong powered quadcopter to mix in some aerial video, so what you see here is only half of an experiment really on what, to scale, would probably be ten foot waves.

Still, it was interesting to FPV (First Person View) my way around the lake as it is something I never tried before. I imagine it would be very pleasant on a calm, warm day.
