DJI Wookong Quadcopter Test Flight York University

The DJI Wookong M is a flight controller and autopilot system made in China. It is reportedly one of the best self-contained controllers out there, some even say it flies better than Mikrokopter, but I'm not quite ready to say that just yet myself.

The video was shot at York University around some unusually shaped topiaried trees, which as kids we used call the Bell Trees and play hide and seek inside them.

As you can see from the video it is still very twitchy. It was pretty windy, though, and the DJI does fly pretty well compared to a lot of flight controllers, but it's still not set right for production quality aerial video.

I do intend to persevere though as I'm confident that the DJI Wookong M is a very nice piece of kit and will be a fantastic addition to my aerial photography and video toolbox once I get all the software settings just right. In fact I'm hoping to get some help on that tomorrow from Geoff at quadcopters.co.uk who knows more about the settings than I do.

I was not going to make a page about this video here, but decided to in the end so I can use it as a comparison with my next video, which will hopefully have all the flying creases ironed out.
