Bishopthorpe is a large village downriver from York, famous for Bishopthorpe Palace where the Archbishop of York lives. Bishopthorpe is also the place where I have a little boat, so I thought I would film the marina from above and try to encompass the entire area of Bishopthorpe at the same time which, as you can see is quite large. The Mikrokopter Hexa 2 did a great job of flying right across the river from where I stood, which is not something I would trust all my quadcopters and drones to do. I must say though that I still get a little worried when I point the camera straight down, so all that's holding it up there is velcro and a camera screw - I half expect to see my camcorder falling far below through my FPV camera. The camera mount used here tends to wobble a bit and I'm pretty fed up with it now, I think it's spoiling a lot of my videos and I know they could be better so I have ordered a very nice camera mount from photoshipone, which should get here next week. Hopefully I will be creating some super stable, super sharp videos with that. |
